Try this parts finder. You can get salvage, remanufactured, whatever. I recently get a 97 transfer case "salvage" (89K on the donor vehicle) for $300 with shipping included from Marshalls in Ohio. You can search by regions and get quotes. Don't be afraid to ask for quotes, for shipping charges figure around 100 bucks on top of the price. Maybe you'll luck out and find something close by.
Now the fun part is getting the old case off the truck, after that it's pretty smooth sailing. Figure on doing the u-joints while your at it, as you'll have both driveshafts off. Also I highly recommend replacing you tranny output seal and transfer case input seals at a minimum. I ended up having to go back in after to replace the seals. Seals are dealer items around here but like 30 bucks total for both of them. In stock too, at my local rinky-dink Dodge dealer.
