Default Hooking up Siruis into Stock 2002 Radio

My dad got the siruis mobile package for his Dakota but he is getting bleed through from other radio stations here in Phoenix. He hates static and wants to beable to get it as clear as he does in his car. I don't think he has an aux jack on the radio and he only has a CD player and no cassette so hooking it up the easy way is out. So is there kit to hookup into the back of the stock radio or a way to hook directly into the antenna so he can over power the radio signal. I have a Ram with a cassette so I don't have to worry about hooking it up for me. I'm thinking it may be easier to get a new radio but he wants to send the least amount of dollars to get it to work. How hard is it to remove the radio out of a Dakota?

I think I would start by contacting the store where your Dad bought his Sirius kit. They may be able to tell him how to adjust it or change the input so there is no bleeding from other stations. I know nothing of Sirius or XM installations, that came out after I got out of car audio. But you might be able to use an FM modulator if the Sirius module has an RCA or low level output. Then you can switch between 2 or 3 different FM frequencies to get the Sirius signal into the radio.

It's not hard to remove the radio from a 2002. You can probably Google it but you remove the 2 screws above the instrument cluster, tilt the steering wheel all the way down, it helps to remove the steering column covers and the knee bolster panel. Be very careful not to break the hazard switch when removing the dash panel. Pop it loose from the dash, it has metal snap in retainer clips. Then yuo have to kind of compress the part of it that covers the instrument cluster and sort of flip the dash panel out over the steering column. If you are lucky your Dad's truck has tilt steering. Take your time, its a tight squeeze but it will come out. Then just remove the 4 screws holding in the radio.

I use the built in wireless transmitter. press the menu button, first option will be FM frequency, hit select, and use the arrow keys or **** (depending on radio) to select a new frequency.
