99 dakota 5.9 RT trans?
99 Dak R/t came with 46RE as previously stated.
'99 46RE 2wd is a direct swap between Dakotas and Durangos between '96 and '99.
2000 changed the temp/pressure sensor and would require swapping the governor pressure block, gov pressure solenoid, pressure/temp sensor, TCC and OD solenoid pack, and wiring harness from the 2000 valvebody onto the 99.
2001 and up changed the case to facilitate the PRNDL switch.
You can swap a Dak/Durango 46RE of same year into a Ram, but you'll need the inspection cover from the Dak as the Rams have a flat inspection plate, typically at least.
However, you should avoid swapping a Ram case into a Dak as there are two bosses cast into the bellhousing at about the 2 O'clock position that interferes with the cooler lines.
In addition, don't swap a Ram into any Dakota or Durango 4 x 4 as there are bracket holes in the Dak cases for the 4 x 4 brackets that are not on the Ram case.
The '03 Dakota R/t 5.9 has the 46RE trans with the PRNDL switch. This is the black box on the drivers side of the case where the conventional Neutral Safety Switch used to be. This switch indicates gear position for the dash indicator as well as PCM functions.
Hope this helps,

Shipping the 46RE will range from $175 to over $300 depending on your tariff, and origin of trans.
I ship out of SoCal all over US with prices typically in the $220 range for trans and converter, but I have a pretty good shipping discount.
