i dont think they need extended, i think they need shortened.
i have access to a welder, my main problem is if i was to make entirely new mounts i wouldn't be abl to bend the metal or cut it because its so thick

I think you would be fine? It comes with Bumper relocater brackets, where does the brush guard mount to? Show me some pics up close. Or just lose it till you get time to fix it & remount it.

see i dont wanna lose the guard, cause i use those lights on the front on a daily basis
there are 4 mounts on the guard to are mounted on the bumper mount which would be moved up, so they are no prob, its the bottom ones they mount on frame so i think i would have to a mount for the mount lol

if your keeping the guard just for the lights theres are other ways to support them

you could mount them on top of the bumper
on the outside of the grille
orrrrrr where i personnaly like is behind the grill like most ram owners doo

MY personal Opinion & dont take this the wrong way just lose that bumper guard, it just looks to big & gawdy on the Dakotas unless you have a 3 in lift with 33 in tires , it just looks as if it weighs your front end down. No offense just my opinion.

no prob man its all opinion, i love the way it looks
and its actually came in handy a couple of times when my buddy's ram has crapped out in the middle of the road
and loudpedal have you seen the amount of room the daks have behind the grille its like nothing
plus the lights i have wouldn't even fit on the bumper they are i think 6" deep
