yes, I meant after. I would say what you're experiencing is "normal", but not "optimal". But that's because DC can't design or build modern transmissions for $#%^.

Default Mine does the same.....

I've had my 04 dakota 4x4 since new and it does the same on occaison. I dropped the oil and filter in the tranny about 2 years ago and I noticed that it didnt make a difference. Still does it once in a while, about once month since I've owned it.
Something to watch, after about 125,000 your water pump will crap its pants with no warning, first time being broken down helpless. So simple to change if you have one on hand.
