Default Strange grinding noise!

I own a 1999 Dakota Sport 4x4 with the 5.2L V8 engine. Every time i spin my tires even if not on purpose, i hear a somewhat loud grinding noise. it sure doesnt sounds healthy so i'm wondering what could be wrong with it. i would like a little information on it before i decide to take it in and spend money. thanks.

Check the Pinion bearing, and the wheel bearings on the rear axle. Pinion should be easy to check just by pushing on it by hand, the wheels, just lift it off the ground and push on it side to side if they move bearing is shot...
