Fan problem?
Hey everybody, I need to tap into your knowledge...
My wife's 2001 Dakota is having a fan problem. When you turn the dial, the fan only blows on the high setting, nothing on the other three.
I checked and I get air movement on every level, on high but no air movement on any other setting. I'm thinking the lowest speeds have crapped out, so do I need a new module or is there a fix for this??
Thanks for any help.

It's the blower motor resistor pack. Under the passenger's side of the dash below the glove box, on the bottom side of the HVAC housing. It's a black rectangular piece about 1 by 3 inches, held in with two 5/16" screws and there is a plug with about 6 or 8 wires connected to it. It also helps to remove the passenger side floor air duct to get the resistor pack out.
Get the new one at the Dodge dealer. In the U.S. they cost less than $20.00, but I don't know what that amount is in Canadian money. Dodge recently did a redesign on the resistor packs with much better and longer-lasting parts. You will see when you compare the old part to the new one. The ones you can get from parts stores are NOS that Dodge sold off. It's very easy to replace and shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to replace it. This is a very common problem on Dodge vehicles. I replaced mine in the parking lot at the Dodge dealer.
