Default Lift question.

Ok hold off on the "did you search for just one second" If this sounds like a noob question i dont mean it to be.

I am looking at buying new tires BFG TA's and there is a very small price diffrence from the 31 x 10.50 to the 33 12.50. Since i do a lot of hunting and drive on the beach in the summer the wider tires would be a great. But reading the FAQ it says that 31s are the biggest i can go on a stock truck. Looking at the wheel gap right now with 31s on the truck there is a ton of wheel gap and i think i could fit 33s under there the way it sits from the looks of it. But just to be safe i was thinking of building a 1-1.5 inch body lift to keep it from rubbing when i go over big bumps. To do this i was just thinking of cutting some 1/4 inch strips to make a block to put over the rear axle under the leaf. And for the front welding 4 of the 1/4 inch pieces together to make one inch blocks for the body mounts.

lots and lots and lots and lots of these posts already

31 is the largest you can fit on stock without rubbing
33s you need a 2" body lift, and I think if you crank the wheel (depending upon rim thickness and tire tread) you still may have a little rub

I agree and i have done a few searches. Sorry i am a little lost with all the diffrent set ups out there and since tires alone will run me about 600 bucks i cant go all out with real suspension lift and i dont want to sacrifice the on road ride.

I did find this on ebay. I am personaly not a big fan on buying items i dont know any thing about off ebay but too me it looks and sounds good.

Also a lot of the tire guids are not all that correct. Close yes and most of the time they are right. But not every time.

For example that one says a 83-92 bronco II/Ranger needs 2-4 inches of lift for 31s Bronco II/Ranger83-92 . I just sold my 88 ext cab ranger and had 31 MT's on a bone stock truck.

Not saying this is the case here as i take your word. But you see why i ask on forums too. And i will admit i should search a little more to start with but i am a little lost and dont want to waste my money and time with the wrong set up.

im pretty sure its accurate for the dakotas;

now i cant confirm it 100% but with a 3" body lift and 10" wide tires or less you can fit 33s without rubbing

theres a bunch of people kicking around on this forum with body lifts that im sure will answer in the near future

So, back on this topic, I'm hoping for people with body lifts to chime in here. I am looking for one and found this one:

Anyone have experience with performance Accesories?
It seems to come with everything required, I also have the tow package so it wouldn't affect my towing, would it?

I have a 3" body lift and a set of 33x12.5. They look GREAT. Only rub a very small amount at full lock. I have them on Cragar soft 8s. Only one size (I think) available at Summit for our bolt pattern.

Is your body lift the Performance Accessories one?
Also, it won't affect my towing if I have the receiver hitch?
As well as ride issues?
Long term effect on steering column?
