Question 2002 4 wheel drive lower ball joints question

The problem is that on the ball joints that I purchased (MOOG) have the cir clip/o ring clip w/ zurich fitting....I have no access to the top to where these would work...Its capped off. I see on the other threads something about grinding down 3 rivets....I don't think this is the same thing.....Were there models that needed the whole arm replaced because I cant find any part without the clip or the zurich fitting? I looked for 01, 03 years and all three years call for same part....What im I missing????

Thanks

as i remember on the 4x4s the top cap needs removed (i/e cut off) then the lower balljoint is pressed out,

the rivets are on the 2wd balljoints

keep in mind i have a 2wd, im speaking from memory so anybody with a 4x4 dal may chime in

I figured the rivets were on the 2 wheel...I have one of those also. these new ball joints came with the clips so I wander if they will even work....Anyone with a 4by replaced these before????? Thanks for the last reply!

The tops are bolted in and a piece of cake to replace.

The lower ones are little harder, as they are press in. You can heat them up and use a 10lb sledge if you don't have access to a press. Put the new ones in the freezer so they go in a little easier. But make sure when you put the new one the greese fitting is facing forward or you'll never be able to get to it.

My problem is that this is no access to the top of the fitting.....I have a feel I will need to grind the top off if I want to use the zurick fitting....Im waiting to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks for your input.
