Default quick possible fix

Car computers are just like home computers. If you unplug it for 15 minutes it may reset itself..........MAY being the key word.

So the Driver side door only locks, it does not un-lock. Does it un-lock with the switch inside the cab?

Also, to re-set the PCM, You only need to disconnect the negative side of the battery for aprox 1 minute. Usually around 30 seconds, it's fine.

Yes, it unlocks from inside the cab (drivers-side-door).

Will do the batter thing tomorrow. Its mega-cold outside @ the moment.

Thanks for the reply.

Best wishes for 2010.

Well, I doubt re-setting the PCM will help. I would look into the cheaper and most probable of the two possible problems. The first is the Door lock solenoid. The door latch and solenoid are the same piece and they can not be replaced with a universal solenoid. You have to buy the dealer only part, and they can be a pita to do, but doable. The part ranges for $75 to $90, but most dealers are about $80 I've found.

The second thing is the CTM, Central Timer Module. This is the second most likely issue. However this can get expensive because the part has to be installed at the dealer and programed by them.

It's programmed that way. You can disable it or change the options with various key tricks that are listed in you owners manual. If you don't have one I will look it up for you.

correct me if im wrong but it could be the wiring between the two as well. but i would lean more towards the CTM being faulty or a bad keyfob, as the inside switch works fine its just the rf keyfob that doesnt. don tknow if the 2000 was multiplexed but i know the 04's were. i lost my schematics in my last move, but if you had a multimeter you could watch for the signal on the input of the ctm when you click your keyfob. and follow the signal from there.
