2001 sport power steering pump
I just replaced my power steering pump, the fluid was a dark brown and thick, my steering was getting tight then loose.. so i replaced the pump and i noticed a slight difference.. ive started flushing out the lines with the new pump taking out old fluid and replacing with new fluid. i was wondering how long this would take to get my steering back to normal?? should i have noticed a difference right away or will it take sometime?? or is it the pump at all??? lol... i just dont know ne more.. someone please help... it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No problem.. Thanks any ways.. Ill get it figured out... i was reading somewhere that if i continue to flush out the system things will get better.. because the fuild was a dark brown i guess means it was over heating cause the pump was dead and that means the fuild loses its viscosity.. so if i flush it out the steering will get better.. thats what i read, sounds about right to me lol.. just in case ne one else is having the same problem try that out.. ill post to let you know if it worked or not.

I've replaced a few pumps in my time. Definately keep purging the fluid. Always seems like it takes a long time for the air to be completely removed so the pump may be a bit noisy for a while. At least that's what I have found in my experience.
