Default 1998 Dodge Dakota Stalling when warm no code

I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota that keeps stalling and will not stay running once it is warmed up. No codes. Replaced 02 oxygen sensor recently (codes was on), but will not stay running. Checked battery, alternator, fuel pump. I believe it is something electrical, but not sure. Any suggestions?

The usual problem is the IAC. Idle Air Control. Replace it.

Does it run fine when it is cold? my dakota would stall in reverse no matter what and would idle fine in drive and park when cold. but when it was warm it would only idle in park. When i shifted it would stall and my problem ended up being a Crank Position Sensor(CPS)

it starts when temp. is below 90 outside and runs ruff but it takes a wile to stall out , around thirty mins. or so.

I've been doing quite a bit of reading due to some problems with my 98 5.2l 4x4 and it sounds like you need a Crankshaft position sensor, ordered mine this morning from that major online retailer A***** for $63 for an actual Mopar sensor.

I seem to remember there being a problem with mid 90's models (not sure if yours falls into this generation), but the splices under the PDC would corrode and cause hard starts and intermittent stalling. A friend of mine had to resplice everything recently (ended up trading it in shortly thereafter) and I *think* his was a 96.

I say replace all your sensors your truck is very old and its cheaper than any auto shop just dive in and replace them all it will cost as much as one trip to a shop... CORRET

Next tune up and remove the throttle body and clean check all vacuum lines for cracks

Keep the old sensors as backup

Best is to replace the sensors in steps this will help you find exactly were the problem was to begin with

Like all O2 sensors first then the all throttle body sensors so on so on

Don't forget about the Cat and muffler they can trash your performance and how it runs also

I had a crank position sensor issue on my 3.9. It would run great for a while, then barely run at all. A corroded intake manifold bolt had been dribbling coolant on it until it was ruined.
