Default 2000 Dakota RT lower ball joint removal

I have done a search on these, and found the 4X4 press in thread, but not a 2WD. I realize they have 4 rivets that need cut out. I plan on wacking them off with a air cut off tool, and drilling out and using a air hammer to drive the guts out. So anyone do this and find a cheat somewhere. Just picked up this RT. And discovered the BJ's are bad on the lower. This is the first Dodge I have owned. After 25 years and owning over 50 different cars and trucks. Yep! This is my first Dodge.

a cheat would be a oxy/acl torch
they are extremely hard,

easiest would be to use a cutoff wheel/grinder id use a 4.5 inch, an air one will have trouble, i couldnt get mine hammered put with an air hammer but you might have better luck, otherwise a BFH and punch will do the trick

make sure the lower arm is supported or it will absorb all the power from the hammer

Will do, I guess they are the original. Unless some dweed bought lower control arms. The tops are great, just the lower.

Personaly, mine wen't prety easy with the air chisel but then again they had 260k miles on them and I pulled all 4 control arms so I could replace the bushings too,LOL. All in all it was prety easy. I did one side and my wife did the other.
