Default Dodge Dakota 2002 4.7L overheating

About 2 weeks ago my truck was overheating and the mechanic said the radiator cap was losing pressure so I bought a new one. Ran fine for 2 weeks and now its overheating again. One side of the radiator is cool and tank is hot, I put a new radiator on a couple of years ago for the same reason. I was just wondering if anybody else was having the same trouble and if you have any other suggestions. Thanks for any input!

Sounds like you Rad might be getting stopped up. sounds like a good time to flush everything really good.

Default 2002 DD 4.7 V8 overheating

I would love to find a solution to this as well. I have flushed my radiator and heating core, changed the thermostat and the cap and I'm still overheating. Strange thing is, I drove 600 miles before it overheated the last time, so I'm very curious.

Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks, Kim
