Question 3.9L with 95,000 miles, performance...?

Well like stated up top, i have a Dakota with a 3.9l with 95,000 miles on her.
Bone stock! I NEED more power. By doing upgrades to this motor now, is it still ok? when has this motor got past its prime?

heres what i want to do:

CAI (cold air intake)
Autolite 3923 plugs, with a Accel TST-10 tune up kit. ( cap, plugs, wires, rotor)
Exhaust (complete high flow cat back. most likely Magnaflow)
Ecu flash ( superchips or, any suggestions???)

Also, can some one give me the proper (part#) for the Superchips programmer for the 3.9L, i dont want to order the wrong unit.

thanks!

The motor is not past its prime, many of the 3.9L engines will run 200K miles plus. Just maintain it and you should be fine.

Not a lot of modification for the 3.9.

You could also add headers to your list. Pricey though.

First off, there is a million and one threads on here on how to improve performance for a 3.9, do some searching and look into the the faq. Then if you have any further questions we will be happy to help.

And that motor was past its prime after the first time the key was turned.

There is a reason you need more power, the 3.9 is junk. End of story.

There is no such thing as a powerful v6 in a heavy truck without way too much money down the tubes. Drop a 5.2 in.

Add a hydrogen generator. more power and way better gas milage. I am about to add one with mine. Cost around 500 and a weekly maitnance of adding distilled water. Has anyone on here tryed one yet or will I be the first?

i would say 1.7RR's would be good too. along with a ported intake manifold and a V8 TB.

I like the V6, decent gas mileage and decent power, i was just looking for more power overall. If i wanted a V8 i would have gotten one! Thats not what i asked about!

Also i did search around thats how i found out what mods i wanted to do first, i was just asking the other V6 owners who have modded there trucks how these would help out overall. In other words i just wanted to make sure i was on the right track!

The mileage between the v6s and v8s are essentially the same in our trucks.
