Default factory fog light problem

Hello to everyone on this fourm. I have a 2000 dodge dakota 4x4 3.9 v6 5 speed to make a long story short i hit a deer. My truck did not have fog lights. So when i ordered the new bumper i got it with the fog lights. I replaed the headlight switch so i had the pullout switch for the fog lights. My truck had the wiring down to the fog lights. I hooked everything up and they don't work i tested for power and have power down at the pigtails when i hook one up the other pigtail has power on both sides. It does not matter which one i hook up. Any help would be good help. Thanks

Not to ask a stupid question but does your truck have the fog light relay installed in the Power Distribution Center? I also think the wiring at the headlight switch may be different between trucks that have OE foglights and those that don't. You might pull it back out and be sure there are no plugs that are not connected. Also be sure the high beams aren't on while testing the foglights, Dodge wires them from the factory so the fogs turn off when you have the high beams on. One of the wires at each fog light should always be ground, whether you have the foglights on or not and whether the foglights are plugged in or not. This almost sounds to me like there is an unplugged connector some where in the fog light circuit.

I am at work right now and don't have any manuals here but I know the 2000 Haynes book has wiring diagrams for the OEM fog lights. You might check there for info on it.

I don't have a dak however i have a 98' Durango. Anyway the guy i got it from had hit a deer a week or two before i got it and busted the pass side lamp out. However i'm having the same voltage issue. I'm thinking bad ground. but I've haven't been able to fix it yet. The Haynes manual diagrams are junk. I had an electrical engineer look at them and they confused him!wtf?

id say get your hands dirty and trace the wiring back. i hate looking at electrical diagrams cause they dont tell you where the wiring actually runs.
dumb question, but have you checked the bulb itself check to see if one of the metal pieces on it has popped off, i dropped one once and that happened so the light would cut on and off

I 1/2 way 2nd josh on this one. get your hands dirty. something to keep in mind is that Wires hardly ever go bad ( which is part of the reason they don't show routing in scematics). 9 times out of 10 it's a connection or a switch.
