I am not the one doing the swap - it is Project-Hemi.

Im new to the forum so, go ez on me lol I had a few questions regarding the hemi swap.

I have a 2001 quad cab 4x4 4.7l with a manual trans.

1st question is, will i be able to pass smog in california?
2nd: will a hemi mount straight up to my manual trans? I really like keeping the manual aspect.

I see you can buy an engine/manual trans as a set out of a challenger/charger, but i wanna keep it 4x4. Maybe a jeep? Sorry if these questions have already been covered elsewhere. Thanks guys!

I'm pretty sure the 2003 ram Hemi came with separate ECM & TCM. The 2004 & 2005 ram Hemi have the combined ECM/TCM. Project-hemi you need the 2003 ram TCM to control the trans or get a 2004 or 2005 ram ECM/TCM.

The 03 has a split ECM TCM. I know because I had an 03. I still have the TCM to my 03 and the 545RFE if you need it let me know and we'll work something out.

I have a 1998 dakota 2.5 2wd. I bought the conversion kit for the hemi with the milidon oil pan. I am having a wiring harness built for the engine, however I am also putting the intake and front accessories from the challenger/charger onit. I think. currently rebuilding the 5.7 and looking for a good t56 to put behind it. Should be a rocket. any suggestions?

Hi all. I realize this thread has been dormant for over a year but I too have been following this thread and have decided to jump in on this swap with both feet. I have 2001 regular cab 4x4 Dakota with an ailing 4.7 coupled to the 45-rfe. I just picked up a 2005 Hemi Durango 4x4 that was modified by a fallen tree! Squashed it right across the back doors but it runs like new and still drives. I'll start my own thread once I start on it and keep you posted how I do. Hopefully HemiDak-Quad or some others that have gone the distance will be available for guidance.
