Smile 4.7, anything to increase mileage without detuning

Any help? I have a K&N filter on, heard the superchips are bogus and it is just so hard to keep my foot out of it...lol

Just got this 2004 Quad w 46,000 miles and am very happy but the mileage sucks.. Also anyone with sites for options cheaper and gear for the Truck...

Auto, towing, full power all but seats, 4.7...would like to add the trip computer as this just has the dome light, and how in the heck do you change the bulb in the cargo light box inside over the rear seats?

Feel free to keep adding ? and answers on the 4.7 in this topic if you care to...Thanks Frank

ive got a club cab and when i replaced my headliner you had to turn it to the perfect angle to get the thing to move, if its the same light try that but be very carefull not to damage your headliner or the headliner board, its only a higher grade cardboard
and as for mileage what are you getting i get about 14 winter and 18 summer depending on how much of a lead foot i have lol

As far as gas milage is conserned. You bought a heavy truck. It's not going to be great. This is a overly covered topic. Do some searching on here and you will find all you need.

But the best way to save gas is your driving habbits.

And then the obvious. Make sure you have a clean filter, good pressure in your tires, no extra weight. Don't fill your tank full unless you need to. Gas weighs a lot.

haha

*beats dead horse*

Cheap way to get better gas mileage, and still keep the truck?

Air tires past max inflation, 45 PSI or higher.
Drive 55mph on the highway.
Coast to red-lights.
Use 100% gasoline, if effective.

All four are "free"

Your link doesn't work, but if its a tb spacer. Its a paper weight.

And only drive 55 on the highway if that is the speed limit. If its 65 drive 65. Going 55 in a 65 is just stupid and dangerous, especially if there is a decent volume of traffic or you live in CT where the flow of traffic goes 80+

Driving 55 is perfectly legal, if you want better gas mileage you DRIVE 55. It's probably not "safer" (in your definition of the word) than 80+

I had no idea that 80 was the required speed.
