Default exhaust help

hey guys, long time no see. i have a question for you guys, i have put in a new exhaust, flowmaster, dual pipes, and after a while, i guess i'm used to it now cause it doesn't seem so loud. i live in california, and have a 2001 dakota v8 4.6. i noticed there is two cats after each manifold on both sides, then what looks to be a third at the y pipe. i was told that it could be a noise reducer/resonator, if thats the case i'd take that off and assume that it would make it louder. please help.

My brother in law had a 02 4.7 and he ended up gutting his cats cause he wanted it louder but they look to make sure you have them during inspection. Before you do anything check to see what your inspection laws say.

Yeah i know that they look, i'm not looking to remove all cats, maybe just the rear one, that is if it is just a noise reducer. but im not sure if it is or not.

if you want to pass inspection keep the stock cat or get a hiflow.

any difference in power or sound? my truck has almost 90,000 miles on it, do they get filled up like a filter over time?

they do eventually go bad. a hiflow might change the sound a little, and free up 1-3 hp.
