that does make sense though i didnt think about that...
its just with this weather even with snow tires anything can happen and i dont feel like spending 300 bucks on a new fender, headlight, radiator overflow tank, bumper, and all the work im going to have to do but i guess im just going to have to deal with it and be careful

Lol, that wasn't aimed at you!

Just keep in mind that if you spend money on a brush gaurd, thats just one more part you'll have to replace if you happen to ever hit anything else again. Even if the brush guard does no additional damage to the truck, changes are it will get damaged. Like I said before, they aren't built to be battering rams, they are built to push through brush.

My opinion has definately already been expressed and then some, but let me just state it like this... if you like to drive through the woods or you want a place to mount extra lights, get a brush guard. If you want to protect your vehicle from damage, buy a tank.

im going to have to go with 95_318SLT on this one It seems that yes in a light impact like a deer the object is not fixed to anything so your truck will keep going and not come to a abrupt stop but in the case like a pole e.x a telephone pole thats 4+ feet in the ground that object is not going anywhere and that impact is going to just travel threw your truck so maybe what should of just been and bumper is going to be hood and what ever your brush guard is attached too. Although if a brush guard could allow you to go threw a brick wall I sure would have one but would prob be in jail for going threw the brick wall at my bank in town. Btw BIGDAVESDAKOTA Check the FAQ section there is something about bumpers somewhere in there and be prepared to spend about 500 on it and about 200 just to ship to your door. I think mine was quoted for 638.00 shipped to a local shop that gets freight on a daily basis. Its more expensive if you get it shipped to your front door.

THE ONLY ONES LIKE THAT I CAN FIND ARE FOR FULL SIZE RAMS
It came from a company in Georgia called Kennesaw Mountain Accessories http://www.kenmtn.com/ I'm very happy with it so far.

I guess it dosen't matter what you hit if your going fast enough you will mess up the truck. I just figured that the brush guard might save the front end a little. I hate to amit when I am wrong, but I will have to give this on to 95_318SLT. Also thanks for the info on the front bumper.

i've seen people rear end trucks w/ a trailer hitch and ruin there front bumper. (me in my old truck) and the hitch completely protected the rear bumper.
wouldn't a Front hitch do the same?
and it goes under the bumper so nothing should get sandwiched.
ur still gonna get damge but maybe save ur radiator.

There is no reason to make your truck a battering ram.
