Default chime and 4x4 light

hey guys,
two, unrelated issues.

one has been going on for awhile and I wouldn't have posted just for this, but my 4x4 lights on the dash work when the key is on and the engine isn't running (like when they all light up for diagnostics or whatever),
but doesn't come on in 4hi or lo, although I can tell I am actually in 4x4 mode and it's working. any ideas ?

the next, and a new and frustrating issue - it started last week, and I can't think of anything that happened out of the ordinary - now, anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds after starting the engine, the bell chimes twice.
no lights on the dash. I filled my wiper fluid and checked my oil. not sure what this is ?

any ideas ?

thanks guys.

That's why I joined this site, my 2006 Ram 1500 4x4 started to chime twice last week. Looked all over the manual and couldn't find a thing. Nothing seems wrong, no idiot lights. No pattern to it either.

central timer module for the door chimes? Seems to be a common problem.

CTM, mine used to randomly chime once or twice like that. Its most likely the same reason why your 4x4 light doesn't work sometimes.

Man, I forgot about kalecoauto too! Thanks for reminding me of the website. I've been looking for it for awhile!

I have the same mystery chime. Same chime as when you hit the low gas warning. Started right after I changed the fuel pump. After my first fillup I let it hit the low gas mark. Now every time I start the truck I hear the chime no matter where the gas level is, drives me crazy. No other issues or lights out.
