Need headers!
I'm starting to look for some inexpensive headers for my 5.2. I'm not looking to spend alot of money, I just want the nasty stock ones outta there.
Thanks for the help

Summitracing.com has some that are made by pacesetter and branded as summit brand. I got them $140, but I think I saw they went up in price. The are a direct, easy swap though... come with gaskets and hardware.
I was gonna do the summit headers myself, but saw that they went up in price to almost $200 now. I'm like you, I just want something that'll be better than the stock manifolds. Ebay has off brand stainless headers for about $150. I'm gonna give 'em a shot when the tax refund gets here.
i did the ebay cheap-o's and if you dont wrap or get them dipped you are wasting you time and money! they put off twice the heat of even cheap name brand headers it's causing me so many problems with this truck.... think twice before saving that 50 to 100 bux
yeah stay away from all Ebay headers. cheap cheap cheap!
and as for Pacesetter, has anyone ran them? I know that their headers for the GM 3800 are widely known for being leaky.

Pacesetter is pretty well known on almost every engine to have problems. They tend to rot out fairly quickly and leak a lot.
Now, summit carries Flowtech, which I had on my old 5.9. I had to use locking header bolts though, so be ware. The Flowtechs are fairly inexpensive and don't throw off obnoxious amounts of heat. I didn't have any problems with them and I saw some fairly positive gains across the RPM range.

Yeah, the pacesetters (summit branded) that I have were cheap, but I wrapped them before I installed them, so they don't put off much heat. The only leaking problem I've had with them is because the bolts backed out shortly after installing them. I tightened them back down and haven't had a problem since.
Honestly though, I'd recommend shorty headers for a daily driver. Cheaper, much simpler install, and you won't see any difference between them and long tubes on anything but a high performance racing application.
