Default blown muffler

i fixed my truck today (damage from hitting a pole) and i guess i didnt put a ground wire on properly because my gauges dont work but i hit a bump and they worked till i hit another bump so im thinking its the ground. but on the way home my truck stalled twice while braking and backfired so hard it blew the muffler. could this all be caused by a bad ground? or was my muffler just my bad luck?

sounds like now is a perfect opportunity to go with a aftermarket muffler to make it sound better

i like how u guys think (i was thinking the same thing lol) but i connected the ground wire and now it runs fine it doesnt pop as much and is running way better (still loud) so could the bad ground be the cause of my blown muffler?
