Default Rim Size

I searched for this but couldn't find it. What is the differance in supension on the models that came with 15" wheels vs. 16" wheels. I know the bolt pattern is all the same. Is there a differance in back spacing. Any replies will help. Thanks.

nah i think they are the same, if ur thinking of switching to the 15" or 16" from the other u'll be good it came off a dak it'll fit remember car makers are lazy they don't wanna make all kinds of different parts for different options

The reason I am asking is if you park a base model and a sport model next to each other, the sport model sits higher. Whats the differance????

I have the same question; My truck sits higher than your average Dakota. One person is telling me it's because of the towing package. I do have a sport model and it's 4x4 w/ 15" rims and 31" tires.

I've been cruising around comparing it to other Dakotas. I have no lift that I can tell.

Don't mean to highjack, just interested in the same answer.

Base models like with the cheesy rims normally have a smaller tire. I think my truck sits higher than most but i've never really compared side by side. I have 31's on 15 inch rim and its a SLT with a tow pkg But I dont think the tow pkg would matter if it did the rear would be higher prob due to diff springs.

Rim size, engine (i would think), and tire size all play a role.

Yea I'm pretty sure v8s have bigger springs because of the extra weight
