Default HELP! Transmission Issue

When it shift gears sometimes it has a little hesitation and some times it shifts smooth...It mainly does this from 1st to 2nd... I have 2000 3.9 Dakota.. 100,450 miles.. Any Ideas? Appreciate it!

I have a 5 speed in my truck too. Mine did that too. It had a bit of clunk or rough shift from 1st to 2nd, especially when it was cold. I changed out the gear oil in the transmission and refilled with Pennzoil Synchromesh and it shifts a whole lot better, plus the transmission is quieter and smoother too. Synchromesh costs about half the price of Mopar manual transmission fluid from the dealer. You might try that out. If you have a NV3500, it takes 2 quarts. I change it out every 48,000 miles.

to be honest its the start of its need for a new transmission, theres one crappy part to owning a dodge truck, they have HORRIBLE transmissions, i have a 97 dakota with 250000 miles on it and its on its third transmission

I agree with 250Kdakota that trans gonna leave you stranded sometime in the near future. My truck has 75,000 miles and its on its 3rd transmission and those symptoms you described were exactly what happened to both of my previous ones soon before they failed
