No I meant the truck has been abused, not the core. I just think they go out faster the more u have the peddle to the floor!!

Lol, sitll, that's a lot of heater cores. At least you've had plenty of practice putting them in though. I need to do mine soon, any pointers?

I had a '98 dakota, and something else that wasn't mentioned, unless I missed it, is the evap core.

Great trucks iv had mine for three years and only complaint i have is in the way i drive it! its my daily driver but i also use it as a hunting/fun truck so i find myself fixing it quite often, everything broken is due to being intentional abused but hey its a truck if your going to drive it like a car your an embarrassment to truck owners. On a serious note i would recommend a gen2 dak to anyone looking for a solid mid sized truck, not to mention there super easy to work on which really helps when you get around that 200k mark

Well when I did those three I could not find an easier way to get at it. Practically everything comes out, and takes hours! When I did the first one it took me about 10 hours and I cracked my windshield.. The third one only took me 6.5 hours, so the more times u do it the faster it is to replace.. The only pointer I guess I have is try to remember where all your screws go, I still have like 20-25 screws in my console that I didnt put back in.

I worked at building heatercores and radiator tubes. The joke in the industry is.....they put a heatercore on a stand and build the vehicle around it.
