why not find another 5.2 and build it mildly, roller rockers are said to free up 20-25HP, electric fan can free up as much as 15HP, or even find a set of 5.9 heads sense that is (correct me if im wrong) where the 5.9 makes its monsterous torque

 

5.9 is the same block but bored larger. Get a 5.9 from a manual ram. 5.2 will run the 5.9 especially if you replace the o2 sensors. You can always get a 5.9 with a an auto and buy a flywheel that is balanced for the 5.9...

Just keep your harness and swap all the electronics so the plugs stay consistent. Some motors run different plugs on the harness for the sensors ect.. But you know which ones work so use the ones on your truck. Especially the crank sensor.

 

Thank you varsis i have been wondering about some of that stuff... how did the 5.9 swap go for you? have been happy with it so far? cuz i have easier access to a 5.2 but i am thinking if i am going through the pain and costs why not go bigger for basically same price right? also kinda off topic but how do you like those clear lights they take on water yet?
