Well seeing every 3.9 auto has a 42re, it's not really neccessary.

Cause they are! Lol my 44re went out at 96k. The 42re is the lighter duty version of the 44. They came in 6 clyinder jeeps too

42re is definitely a terrible tranny.

My dak sits at 58,000 kms not miles.

Always clunks into gear and OD hesitates and finally violently clunks.

When it dies I'm dropping in a 318 and 44re as a project.

well with a 3.9 in dakota when my tranny goes could i swap it with a 44re or can i not with the 3.9 motor
