3.3L in my dakota?
so i thought i had a 2.5l in my truck... i figured i would decode my VIN and it says i have the 3.3L. is this common in the dakota? do i actually have the 3.3 or 2.5?

The 3.3 is a V6, the 2.5 is an inline 4.
The 3.3 never came in a Dakota.

I think your VIN decoder is wrong.
What do you show for the engine? It should be in the 8th location.
P = 2.5L
X = 3.9L
N = 4.7L
Y = 5.2L
Z = 5.9L

it shows a P. i think the decoder i used must have had chrysler listed as well?

No, it's a chrysler designed/built engine. It was used in minivans.

The early (1st gen) Nissan Frontiers /Xterras used 3.3 V6s until 2004. Just saying.

Nissan may have a 3.3 as well but it's not related to the Mopar.
