I got a little bit of ghosting only when it is dirty I used some goo gone stuff and a microfiber towel after I razored the sticker off turned out good had to use industrial remover for dealer sticker I need to still do the doors and the retarded pinstripes my paint is starting to get the infamous Dodge fade so I'm not that worried about it

Just make sure its got a flat back, or that you are prepared to make it fit

My ghosting is long gone, I didnt do a damn thing to it. But mine is not getting the life it wants on the road lol

With your red paint, it may not show as bad as it did with my truck. With the dark blue that I have, I really needed to get rid of all evidence that there was anything there. When the sunlight shined on the paint, it really stood out. The 3M stuff is also really good if you decided to do the entire truck as I did. It really does a good job of removing the scratches, but as I said, you need the random orbital buffer, or you'll have swirl marks.

today was really sunny and the tailgate looks great.
i also did the doors today 2hrs. a piece!

i left one thing out in my original post, after the bug/tar remover or goo gone
u can use a white eraser, the kind used for drafting.
they have somthing like this(eraserwheel) you can put on a drill that will be quicker
but it can burn the clearcoat. and i used turtle waxs bug/tar remover, so it's got some wax in it.
i'll take some pics when i get out tonight, and post em.
new camera )

Before going as drastic as buffing and using rubbing compound, maybe try some Meguiar's Scratch-X. It is a very fine rubbing compound and may help with the ghosting you have. You could also do the whole truck with it and probably get rid of or at least diminish the swirl marks.

Let the truck sit a week or two without waxing where you removed the decal. The sun will eventually fade the ghosting out anyway but it can take a while. WD40 is fine for removing the glue from the decals, it won't hurt the paint at all but it also won't do anything for the ghosting left behind by the decals.

So, the heat gun worked for you?
Just peel it off with your fingers? or is there a better technique?
