Default Valve cover breather hose question?

Yo, u kno the hose that comes out of the passenger side valve cover on the 3.9 V6 and runs into the intake? Could I unhook it from the intake and put a little breather filter on it, like the ones you see on old motors with the little filter mountaed to the valve cover directly. Would venting the oil through a little filter into the atmosphere improve power at all? Ive heard it reduces power on some cars if the oil is sucked into the engine cuz it doesnt burn real good. Mainly i just wanna kno if i can do it without messing something up. thanks

Default RE: Valve cover breather hose question?

its just a vent for backed up gases. i doubt a filter can improve breathing ability as compared to an open hose. Keep it smog legal my friend.
