Just installed a rebuilt tranny. Truck cranks but idles like crap then stalls...




ok after spending almost all day troubleshooting.....not getting anywhere.

I scanned a P1391 code....intermentent CPS/CMS

I replaced the CPS.

Still rough idle and stall.

Pulled the dust pan from tranny and inpected Tonewheel.... looks good and no wabble.

Followed every vacuum hose line.....no leaks.

Tested all GND wires with light prode. All seemed to produce a bright light.(Alligator clip on +12V of bat and prob GND lines)

Tested wires at PCM for a 0 - 5V signal from CMS....checked out ok.


Again, the 98 3.9 Dodge Dakota will crank easily but idles rough then stalls. And only code I am getting is P1391

Previously installed IAC and TPS. Cleaned TB.

Please Help!!!
