Default Thoughts on plugs, oil and filters for 4.7 dak

Heyas folks its that great warm time of year again and its seems to be maint time.. my dak has hit 101k miles.. and ive always used mobil 1 synthetic oil with a mobil 1 oil filter..also k&n air filter with champion plugs ...

what im curious about is does anyone have any experience with Royal Purple oil or their oil filters.. i understand their considered ultra preminum but curius if their better then my mobil 1 items im using..

also curious about E3 plugs.. are they worth 8 bucks a piece for the dak

TB im not worried about since so many ppl tell me its junk .. i keep my tires inflated.. im debating on changing gear oil and tranny oil is there a way when its time to change .. since i changed mine at dealer sorta freq.. i had a crooked dodge dealer.. when i moved to a new one and they asked me why i kept changing out my rear oil..eh ya live and learn,, now i read everything.. i got suckered since i was impatient..and took the rental...

do the coilpacks ever go bad or will pc pop a code if they do..since i dont have plug wires..a new coilpack is 25 bucks at store so thats a bit pricey as well..

Has anyone used one of those hurricane items in air box or does using a kn cold air intake really improve alot.. i have friends whom tell me they suck more oil in and their bad... but eh never played with them...

my dream is to put a cherry bomb catback exhaust from the glory days of my old 70 camaro i had.. but thats the most pricest upgrade ill prolly wait on if its a worthwhile one...

thanks,
Schuey

No to the tornado. I've used the E3 spark plugs...didn't really notice anything. If you want a little power I would do a DIY cold air intake, with a paper filter, and remove the clutch fan. Should be about 10hp or so with those things.

ok.. yeah i drove around to the local auto parts places and most ppl were like unless i was running some form of race truck they would just buy oem plugs.. instead of e3.. as for the royal purple oil.. most ppl told me to stick with my mobil 1 synthetic that ive been using since day 1..one guy told me unless i was running a 500hp engine not to bother with purple..its strictly for running hot blown engines..

Royal Purple is worth it, in the fact that you make more power. Is it worth it cost wise for DD? I think not.

RP is not worth it at all. M1 is perfectly fine and the M1 filter is also good. Go to wally world and get some autolites, they work wonderful, just plain old copper plugs is all you need. Never get a tornado or hurricane or whatever they are called. Huge waste of money. The coils will set off a CEL if one is bad. You want a CAI? Make one of these http://www.turbomopar.com/craig/dako...dakintake.html
