Is It Possible?
My father has a 98' dodge dakota (project truck), but the engine is pretty much shot on it. So Him and I started talking one day, and I threw out the idea of just putting a v8 in it...well, he currently has a 4 cyc in it. So would it be possible to swap a v8 in the truck instead of another 4 cyc? I know sometimes doing swaps can be a pain, and sometimes just not possible. However, would this be possible? I would love to put the 5.9, but not sure if it will fit. Thanks.
Btw, it's a 98...2 wd...if that were to matter at all...

Check the FAQ section, but I'm not sure if anyone has gone from the 2.5 to the 5.9. You might look at the thread titled 2.5l dodge dakota they are gathering some info on this same swap you are talking about. And remember this is america, anything is possible.
It's definitly possible. And actually not that bad of swap concidering some. The 5.9 was made to go in it, a lot of dakotas, rams, and durangos had them, and all the parts to do it are easily attainable.
You will obviously need a new PCM, new wiring harness, new motor mounts, new tranny, the motor, new injectors... I'm sure im missing things, but just to give you an idea.
