I need a the front driver side bearing replaced and since you have to buy the whole assembly so instead of a 12.00 bearing I have to spend like 60 or more for one. Question is I found one on ebay but says for 99 00 will this still work with my 98? Already checked rock auto and its 99 what do you think?

that hub is for rear abs, do you have front or rear abs? if you have front abs i don't think those will work..

 

I had a bunch of parts from my ifs left over but I threw them out a long time ago no one wanted it lol. I did put a new bearing on the one side though. That looks like the one I got or similar. And should fit up But if you have ABS, that will NOT work. There needs to be a speed sensor for abs.

Ok well got everything i need today but I find that there is a flimsy ring of metal that goes around the cv shaft that is rusted out my question is can I leave it like this or does it need replaced to keep the water out?cReally I dont know how it can keep anywater out cause there is no seal or gasket I just need a second opinion before I put it all back together. Im REALLY strapped for money right now and having to buy anything else is going to make me totally broke.

Ok never mind I got it all figured out. Turns out that metal piece I was talking about basically acts as a dust guard it doesnt even sit on the steering knuckle. So I packed the edge full of grease to stop any water from coming in and really the job was pretty simple 7 of 10 on my scale hardest part was breaking the rust weld holding the hub on to the knuckle took a BFH and a chisel and about 45 min of my time.
