I was told by a certain individual that Super Tech is manufactured for Walmart by Mobil. Anybody have any info to prove it or otherwise?

Oh lord. This comes up on every car forum I am on. This will end up being 3 pages of bickering, and no one will be sure what is the truth.

No, I don't remember who exactly makes it. I do know that it is not "sub par" oil. The filters, at least they used to be, are sub par. Super tech oil with a good filter like WIX is a good bet.

Pretty sure they are Frams, at least they used to be. Quaker State used to make the oil, but I think that's changed too.

as a former recent Wal-mart employee, super tech oil is actually pennzoil oil that failed the grade, its then reprocessed and sold to wal-mart in bulk, who then bottles it and sends it to its store...their filters are made to the same standard. It gums up super fast. only thing worth then super tech is putting accel non detergent motor oil in your truck, or that golden state stuff that should be banned from shelfs

p.s. quaker state is the same exact crap as pennzoil....made in same plant... gotta love wax based oil
