I have the 4.7 and I only get 16 mpg doing 70 on the highway and i have only 42k miles. I have a Gibson exhaust and after market intake with a K&N. The only thing I don't have is the tuner. Can that really give me that big of an improvement?

No you won't gain 4-5 mpg. 16 on the highway at 70 isn't good for a 4.7. You ought ot easily get 18 anyway. Make sure your tires are filled with air, plugs are good, filters are clean... just the basics will make a big difference if they aren't working right.

Run 100% gasoline, not ethanol. Max PSI in tires, or a little less.

I don't run max in my tires, they are at 40psi. the ride is a little stiff on nyc roads. everything is up in good condition(plugs, filter etc) i even change my map censer that someone mention before. there is no 100% gas around here, not that i notice.

100% gasoline would be 91 octane and $1.35/litre where i live, so its not really worth it

i pay around $75 to fill it from near empty, i get about 180 miles, mostly city driving. using 87 octane, is it worth it to get a superchip? is it a noticeable power increase/ MPG if i drive like a grandma?

Well, I did notice a HUGE difference when I took my programming off to install my throttle body. But I am now getting 19.32 MPG as per hand calculations

I get about 16 but I have some tranny issues that need to get worked out. I found a "Tornado" for 5 bucks on ebay so we'll see if it's a waste or not. I'm pretty sure it will be. But it's worth a try! I hope to be getting about 19 when my tranny gets fixed.

I wouldn't use it.
