Default Exhuast for 3.7 L?????

I can't find an exhuast system for my truck to save my life. It's a 2004 Quad CAb w/ the 3.7 L V-6. Flowmaster doesnt make on and neither does Magnaflow.

All I want is a decent single cat back exhuast, dont need anything fancy I just want it to free up a few hp and mpg (if I can keep my foot out of the carpet)

My other idea is to just add a flowmaster muffler and high flow cat and keep the stock exhuast pipes....is this possible?

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

any exhaust guy worth a damn can do a custom job for you for the same price as a system shipped to your door.
However, HP gains are minimal at best, so just go with a muffler that sounds like you want.

I checked out my exhaust, and found a Flowmaster 50 series that will fit. Cost is $85 shipped, and I can easily install it because the stock exhaust uses clamps and isnt welded, I should be able to easily clamp the new muffler in place.

Mine is 2.5 inch piping too. The stock muffler has offset inlet/outlet so I assume that I am going to have to get a muffler with the same offsets so it will match up to my existing pipes? Also stock muffler is like 27 inches long and flowmaster is only like 24 inches so I have to get a small extension too I think? Never dont this before but I don't want to have a bootleg leaky exhaust I want to do it right.

either get an extension or leave it dumped after the muffler. that way you dont have to worry about the offset or anything. ive got mine dumped under the cab

Loos good, sounds OK at best...I ended up getting a dynomax super turbo and keeping the stock exhaust pipes because i found some dyno results showing that the best torque and hp numbers under 4000 rpm are made by keeping stock pipes and replacing muffler...there are systems that make more hp around the upper rpms but I was more interested in gaining low end power and gaining fuel economy and I have accomplished both. It's also not too loud just a mellow deep sounding growl, doesnt sound like a v-8 but it never will.
