Default Replace Evaporator 99 Dakota

Hi i am new to the forum and i am looking for instruction on replacing the evaporator in my 99 Dakota. Any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated. I have seen detailed threads with pictures for a Caravan. I would love to find instructions like that for my 99 Dakota. As i dont want to spend around 1500 buck for the "stealer" dealer to do the work for me. I have five days off Memorial day weekend that should be ample time lol!

Thanks,
Devil

Well i am editing my first post, i found the awesome post from JBs DAK for the excact question i asked. But none of the pictures show up.

Any suggestions why?

Just an FYI - I wouldn't put my email addy in a post. Spam bots will find you

myemail ("AT") myemailserver.com gets the point across without using the "at" symbol which most of the bots seem to cue on.

Hi folks, im in the middle of replacing my E-vap and heater core. I just took off the four nuts holding on the heater box from the firewall. I am using JB Dak's instructions. I cant locate the "factory push on one way retainer thats about the size of a fifty cent piece" or the next step on the inside states to take off a "small six inch bracket like a lazy-S and silver in color" I cant find either of these. Im going to move on and check back later.

Welp, i found the bracket "under the carpet" Still dont know about the "one way retainer"

Thanks,
Brian

I got the heater box out and man what a job. I owe JB's Dak a great thank you!! For the instructions posted. Now i will crack the box open a clean it out. Just sitting on my garage floor it is oozing oil and dye from the freon. No doubt now the E-vap is where the fault is. Just hope i can remember where everything goes when i re-install lol!!!

Happy Memorial Day!! WHO AHH!!!!
Brian
