Default Just installed a transgo shift kit

Well, I was about to drop the auto trans and put in an NV4500 under my 2001 QC, but since I have 2 spare auto transmissions in my home now, I figured I would give this transgo shift kit a try. Test drove it so far, on the highway too, and I do notice a much harder downshift when I stomp on it. It is better than it was, but it will never replace my manual transmission.

Did you splice in the resistor to increase pressure? I am about to do the HD kit.

Yes I did the splice too. I am good at soldering so it wasn't the easiest spot to solder on but I made it work. Then I painted it with liquid eletrical tape, regular electrical tape, and then high temp foil tape to redo the outer heat shielding.

hardest part was getting the main transmission connector undone without breaking off the lever. I had to play with it for a little while until it eventually disconnected.

Don't get me wrong it downshifts and shifts harder in general, but nothing that is close to shifting hard in a manual.

One tip, check and make sure you have everything. I was missing the washer they call for to be put into the OD spot, luckily I was able to go buy some stainless washers from the hardware store, but I have read other posts where they left parts out.
