Default power surge at steady speeds?

My 2002 SXT 3.9 ltr seems to cut in and out on the hiway at steady speeds. It's an intermittent on off problem happening several times per second. You can just feel the surging sensation of power loss, then it's back on, then off. I think it might be an electrical issue. I installed new plugs and wires a while back, but have not done the distributor cap (90k). The OBD II doesn't show any codes. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This happened to me before and it was the TPS,throttle positioning sensor that needed to be replaced. I forget how much it was but it is a small electronic piece next to the throttle body and it was cheap, but this was like 5 yrs. ago,the price could have changed by now. At the same time this happened to me and I was searching for an answer and I was also told that it could be my Torque Convertor locking up at highway speeds, but it was not that thank god(big $$$$$$)Good luck on your repair.

something similar happened to mine

i cleaned my battery terminals and tightened it all back together and the problem went away

probably isn't the solution to your problem but you never know, try the easy stuff first
