Default 96 leafs in a 98 dak question

I'm in the process of putting the 2550lb rear leaf springs from a '86-'96 dak into my '98. I'm taking pics and will post a write-up if anyone is interested.

The '96 leaf bushings take a 1/2" bolt and the '98 leaf bushings take a 9/16" bolt. I have to use the '96 bushings due to the difference in diameter of the leaf spring eyelet.

So, the question is: Will using the 1/2" bolt in the hole of the bracket designed for a 9/16" bolt cause problems down the road wrt wear? (I'm talking about the bolt hole in the bracket/hanger which is mounted to the frame)

Thanks

a simple fix might be to use a bushing but will the leafs lift the truck or just stiffer?

according to some info I found online it will actually lower the rear by 1-3/8"
The '96 spring is 1-3/4" thick with a 5-3/4" arch = 7.5"
The '98 spring is 1-9/16" thick with a 7-5/16" arch = 8-7/8"

Where did you find that info? I would like to check out that site. Also I think the 2wd and 4wd rates will be different due to how they are mounted differently.
