Post Replacing Carpet

I have an '00 QC in great shape except for the carpet. It is a dialy work truck that gets some hunting and fishing trips too. I have a few questions before I get started.

1) how hard is it to remove the carpet (and seats)?

2) how many wires and such are under the carpet

3) would this be a good place for linx type product instead of carpet?

Carpets shouldn't be too bad to remove, but find somone who makes a replacement before you trash the old stuff. I don't think you will find a mess a wires, so no worries there, but what you should look at is maybe a vinyl replacement. Problem with line x is then you have this gap between your plastic trim pieces and the floor.

getting the carpet out isnt hard per sey, just a bit time consuming. You have to remove the seats, side sills, kick panels, etc.
You can clean it in the truck however. Just get a little Bissel steam cleaner and a good cleaner.
If you are wanting to replace the carpet alltogether, check out

IMO a line-x'd interior looks dumb unless its a jeep. Not to mention its pointless. If you are wanting to do it as a sound deadener, there are far better products.

^ what he said. I did it thinking it would be cool a few years ago...I was wrong. Just get some all season floor matts and you're good to go. You know the rubber ones.
