Default leveling kit questions

I've been looking online for a leveling kit for my 2001 dakota 4x4 quad cab and haven't found one anywhere, theres a local place near me who does suspension and other work on trucks and jeeps, should i take it there and see?

Also how much of a lift will the leveling kit give the body of my truck? I heard that leveling kits are rough on suspension, is this true or would it be more worthwhile to just put a lift kit on it?

Thanks

most people just crank the torsion bars to level out a 4x4

You can get new torsion keys and blocks which should get around 2"-3" of lift over factory height. If you want to go with a true suspension lift, I beleive the only kit they make is a 5.5" lift. If you dont want to go with a suspension lift, you can always go with a body lift, which will leave the suspension itself same as stock, and just lift the body off the frame 3". This will allow you to fit larger tires, and the only stress on the suspension then will be from the larger tires.

The 2wd's don't have torsion bars correct? So you would have to go with a body or suspension lift for mine right?

that is correct, or if u were just looking to level it, u can get coil spacers, i think a 1" thick spacer would level out the 2" rake on the 2wd
there is only two suspension lifts i know of for the 2wd, the fabtech which is expensive, or the doestch tech which is pretty much the same thing but cheaper, for both u would need to get new rims with a max backspacing of 3.5" cause of the new larger control arm
