Default POSI and 4:10 Gears

I just got a POSI and a set of 4:10 Gears for my 2000 3.9 V6 Dakota. How much do you think this will help in giving this slug a new pair of *****. I am also going to put a shift kit in it very soon. The mechanic said that he had one just like it and it would BARK second gear even with the POSI. Is this possible...

it is extremely possible! 4.10 is a steep gear for a dakota and it would be really torquey with just those gears. The dakota is fairly light and should have a good power to weight transfer making for negative traction on most surfaces (you'll burn the **** outta your tires!) all the shift kit does is hold the gears longer so you get a higher rev and than it gives it a harder shift. its all possible though

you may want to try a cold air intake and maybe a free flowing exhaust to get some more ponies out of your 3.9 to!
