Tranny help, fast REPLY!
Okay, im glad this happened before my big trip to fredericton But i have horrific news.
As i Swamped my dakota a few weeks ago, i've had little time to change the fluid and filters in my transmission... As forgetful as i am I totally forgot about doing it as i work 10-12 hrs of the day and gets very little chance to do anything about it.(as there's water in my transmission)
So I've came to Revs, clunking and more revs without my truck moving.(it's been getting worse as the days go by) I just recently took off the pan and drained the fluid out and im getting a scare to as all the mechanics i know are saying that my transmission is toast...not good. the fluid is milky pinkish kinda color and it's putting me in a dilema as to my trip to fredericton to get my truck lifted...
Is my transmission dead in the water Or can i save it by added new filters and new fluid?? I was told im going to need a new tranny very soon by good journymen auto mechaincs.. im really not interested in loosing a tranny just before my BIG custom truck trip... and im NOT spending 2,000$ + to get another tranny.
Whats my options, what would you do? ( smart tranny people only )
