Injector replacement
Any Tips on replacing injectors?
Got a mil code for #3 cylinder misfire, poke around, swapped out the basics and it keeps coming back. Now I'm not one to throw money at issues, but I broke down and bought a set of injectors from precision injectors. $140.XX for a set of 6. Chrysler #04861047
Reading the info, it seems pretty sraight forward and easy to do.
Questions I have, one is about the rubber seat thats in the cylinder head. When I pull the fuel rail, is that seat coming out with injector or does it stay in the head?
Do I need to replace the seat with injector swap no matter what?
The injectors I purchased are flow matched, I was sent a sheet stating the flow rate of each individule injector. They are all slightly different, so should I place the higher flow ones in the middle cylinders or the outside ones?
Never done this particular install before so I have no personal references to draw from.

The flow rate sheet that they sent you, is that what they will flow at when in the truck, or what they are capable of flowing at? I would think that they computer would/should optimize the correct flow rate. When you pull the fuel rail, most of the o rings should come out with the injector, but it is possible for them to be stuck. You should replace the rubber seats on every injector, to be sure that there are no cracking issue's therefore they wont leak.
Are the o rings, you speak of, a separate item from the injectors. I see rings on the replacements, but my lack of hands on experience does not tell me if there is a separate one that goes in the cylinder head. I'm trying to get my ducks in a row before I do the swap.

the o-rings are on the injectors, top and bottom. Nothing in the heads. When you install the new ones, lightly lube them with oil so they'll slide in nicely.
AND flow matching is a awesome service! In a batch of say 100 injectors, there are bound to be 1-2 that are way out of spec, so some places flowmatch them to be safe. Some small difference is fine.
Throw them in any cylinder, it'll be fine.

Reading my Chiltons, it says to reconnect the evap purge canister to manifold in install procedures, but it does not say anything in uninstall about disconnecting this part, why?
I was looking at engine for clearances and such, the book says to uninstall throttle body. Do I really have to do this? I want to unattach as least as possible.

Pulling the TB is easier than fighting with the throttle linkage on the passenger side of the motor. The fuel rail is up and behind the bracket. I tried to just undo the bracket (to save time) ended up pulling the TB anyway, 4 bolts and that's it.
