Default 5.9 done 30 over?

hello i have been looking for a good 5.9 for my dakota and today my brother got me a 5.9 that needs the bottom end done the guy said he turn the engine off and never started it up after hearing a knock becuase it only had 80.000kms on the truck but here is what iam trying to find out the guy said it was a rare truck and the engine come out factory done 30 over it was a 97 short box (very nice truck) that they didnt make many of i think he said sst /rt or something like that has anyone heard of this and did any of the dodge engines come out done 30 over ? i dont really care about having the engine fixed but i have not heard of this but when i take the heads off i will no also it was super charged i think he put that on but dont really no i didnt ask to much when he was just giving me a 5.9 and tranny with 80.000kms on it if anyone can help me out that would be great thanks

i didnt think so my self but thats why i was asking if anyone had heard of dodge doing something like that but i was just looking around on the internet and what i come up with is that his truck is one of them ss/t trucks blue with white strips i was just happy that i got the engine and tranny for free so we loaded it and said thank you and was on our way lol

what will it cost me to have the bottom end done on the engine iam in trenton ontairo canada and need a shop to take it to if anyone knows where i can take it to around here that would be great i just want it fixed and droped in my truck iam sick of mini vans kicking my *** and does anyone no if i can use the tranny my truck is a 98 dakota with 5.2 in it right now and the other truck was a 97 ram ss/t i think?

if it pinged most likly its just the plenum thats blown lol .

he said it was a rod bearing so he shut it off and pulled the engine its still on the back of my truck i never even pulled the oil pan off or anything i will be doing that in the next day or 2 so i can take it some wheres to get it looked at and fixed

Is the guys name Blair? or Jim? ... if so i know the truck it came from.

i dont no his name but he,s from bellville and put a chev engine with a 6 speed viper tranny in the truck now if this is the guy you no any info on this 360 would be helpfull the truck is blue with white strips and the 360 was supercharged nice truck

if you are unsure where to take the engine to be rebuilt, call your local autoparts stores and ask them who they recommend.
Expect to pay over $1k for a engine to be rebuilt.

I'm 90% positive the guy is Blair. We have dynoed that truck before up at Redline in Scarborough. He had a Vortec supercharger on it if i remember correctly. Sorry i dont have much info on the motor though. He certainly knows enough about engines to tell you all the info you are after so ask him what info you are after.

Try emailing this guy "JIM" he knows Blair as well and may be able to provide some info, hopefully this email addy is still active.
