Does anyone know if a 45rfe from a 2006 1500 with a 4.7l is a direct swap for a 45rfe in a 2001 dakota with the 4.7l ? I read something about the one from the 1500 being controlled by the engine control module.

If I get the transmission control module from the 1500 (if it has one) will it be compatible with the ECM on the Dakota?

 

I personally thought they were all the same.

 

Im pretty sure the ram is diff and wont work but I could be wrong I know this question was asked before just can remember the whole thing lol

 

I don't think the transmissions are different, I always thought it was just the controller. If you plug it into your Dakota, your transmission control module should take control of it.
