if your using a oiled filter then your good. water and oil don't mix, so unless your submerged in water the tb and stuff should stay dry. thats what alot of the offroad guys say anyway. any shield would keep the filter cleaner and take less servicing/cleaning.

What did you use to paint your rear differential cover? Did you powder coat it?

I'm gonna turn mine either red or chrome.

first i cleaned it with brake cleaner. then sandable primer, then rustoleum red enamel paint. the mudd slides right off, mostly.
